"With its headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is pleased to be working with the Cities for People initiative, helping cities embrace the needs of their populations and come up with ways to meet them. As a long-standing member of the Winnipeg not-for-profit community, IISD believes strongly in our home city and understands both the opportunities for sustainable development and the challenges faced in moving the agenda forward.

We are pleased to be hosting the first Winnipeg-based Cities for People roundtable. This initiative will bring together a core group of local organizations to discuss initiatives which demonstrate innovation in community and urban development in Winnipeg. The dialogue will focus on identifying and addressing issues facing Winnipeg as a city and providing examples of innovation with a particular focus on the Cities for People Themes."
